ABOUT

About Us Steve Harms began building speakers in his garage in 1975, and his passion for audio has not waned since. A local company to Fort Collins, Harms Sound Labs has evolved over the years, but the best service quality has persisted as the main objective. Harms Sound Labs can provide experience in technologies that are considered obsolete today. With a deep knowledge of the past and a solid understanding of current technology, Harms Sound Labs can fix or improve an existing system or build a great system from scratch.

Previous models of Harms Labs Speakers

Our History Harms Sound Labs began with Steve and Jeanne Harms in Fort Collins. Steve started building speakers using a ping-pong table as a workbench in his dorm at CSU. He built a variety of speakers and sold them to friends and bars around Fort Collins. Soon he began to see demand for turntables, cassette decks, reel-to-reels, and amplifiers. The business quickly evolved into a full-service audio/video store peaking at $2 million in revenue a year and supporting 30 employees across five departments. Unfortunately, the 1997 flood destroyed the building and equipment, and Steve was forced to downsize to a smaller location. Harms Sound Labs still maintains the service standards set decades ago by Steve Harms.
